A glass roof gives you a room you cannot use half the year: too hot in July, too windy in April, too bright to see a screen in either. These are the four things that fix it — shade it, close its sides, and shut it up at night.

Fabric down the open side, running in a zipped guide so the wind cannot pull it out of the rail.
Toughened panes in a slim track that stack to one side, so the veranda closes in winter and opens in summer.
Insulated aluminium slats in a guide either side, outside the glass. Dark, quiet, warmer, and shut.
Tell us what the room does wrong and when. That is usually enough for us to say which system solves it — and to say when none of them does.
