Watch how to measure

The same four steps as below, shown on a real veranda. Worth two minutes before you pick up a tape — a wrong measurement is the one real risk of buying this online.

Check the clearance firstThe system needs at least 4 cm of free space under the glass. If you have less than that anywhere along a beam, call us before you measure the rest.
How many sections?3

A section is one bay between two beams, and it takes one track of fabric. Count the bays you want covered — most verandas have two to five.

Both widths are measured inside beam to inside beam — at the top, against the house, and at the bottom, at the front beam. Enter both: we cut to the narrower of the two, and a bay that is out of square is normal.

Front of the veranda to the back, measured down both sides of the section. If the two differ, send the smaller one.

How to measure

Takes about ten minutes with a tape or a laser. Measure every section on its own — a made-to-measure track only fits the bay it was cut for.

  1. 1Check the heightAt least 4 cm of clear space under the glass, along the whole beam. Without it the system cannot be fitted.
  2. 2Measure both widthsBetween the beams, inside edge to inside edge. Once at the top, where the section meets the house, and once at the bottom, at the front beam. Enter both — we cut to the narrower.
  3. 3Measure the depthFront to back, down both sides of the section. If the two differ, use the smaller one again.
  4. 4Do it for every sectionEach bay separately, and check them all once more before you order. We cut to the millimetre from what you enter.
